The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research. With a beautiful and vibrant campus, we provide exceptional teaching and practical learning to inspire and equip our students for personal and professional success.
Set in the bustling town of Guildford in the heart of the southeast of England, the University is easily accessible by road and rail with great connections to London. Just a 10-minute stroll from campus, Guildford town centre is alive with bars, restaurants and cafes.
There are three faculties within the University: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences; Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
Surrey was recognised as an ‘outstanding’ institution when it received a prestigious Gold award in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework, which is testament to our passion for inspiring our students and preparing them for a bright future.
As a research-led University, Surrey's outstanding contributions benefit society as a whole and address major global challenges, having conducted ground-breaking work in areas such as medicine, health and environment.
The University produces highly employable graduates, with its courses designed to give you the necessary skills and experience to excel in the working world. We prepare students for the world of work and many of our students take up Professional Training placements as a part of their degree.
With its beautiful lake, lively Students’ Union and strong community spirit, our campus is the perfect place to realise your potential. Living and learning is easy at Surrey, with everything you might need within easy reach – from grabbing a tasty lunch at Young’s Kitchen, to tapping away on your laptop in our multi-million pound library. The University is also the ideal opportunity to break out of your comfort zone and find a new hobby, or pursue an existing passion with like-minded people. Our 130+ societies are made up of groups of students interested in a common theme and there are over 47 sports clubs to join, including weightlifting, lacrosse and volleyball. Many of which are based at the £36 million Surrey Sports Park located on our Manor Park Campus.
Our £16m Library and Learning Centre is the academic hub of the University, sitting at the heart of our campus. In addition to hosting collections of online information resources that are easily accessible both on and off campus, our Library houses hundreds of thousands of books and journals, as well as audio and image collections to explore. The Library is open 24 hours a day during semester time and has long opening hours during vacations.
Surrey is proud to be one of the most culturally diverse universities in the country. Whether you are from the UK, the EU or further afield, you'll live, work and study with people from different backgrounds to your own.
